The Chamber seeks to support and represent its members and the whole business community at local, regional and national level adding value by helping them to succeed, grow and increase profitability. Over the years, the Chamber has played a fundamental role in the region’s business life, being the ‘voice and ears’ of local business. It provides truly independent business representation and lobbying, networking and signposting for the benefit of its members and the wider business community. In consultation with members, the aim of the Chamber is to be an effective pressure group, engaging and influencing policy and decision-makers as a mature, responsible and independent organisation. Working for what is believed to be best for the local economy, the Chamber also plays a major role in facilitating and promoting partnership working between different groups including Private and Public sectors. Having worked within the recruitment industry for 15 years, she has a passion for providing excellent customer service and exceeding her client’s expectations. Trudi is proud to be a founding partner of anew South West, building the business into the recruiter of choice in the South West area. She is a very active member of the South West’s business community, having supported many activities and events as a Stem Ambassador, with North Devon Manufacturers Association and EDT South West.
A long-standing Chamber Executive member, having previously held the post of President in 2002/3 & 2010/1. He was also Chairman of North Devon Chamber of Commerce & Industry from 2003 – 2007. Phil has been particularly involved in promoting ‘Partnership working’ for the benefit of the local business community, representing the Chamber widely across the South West on strategic business groups. He is a Director of project management and design company, Project (SW) Ltd.
Currently Treasurer of the Chamber, Mark is a Partner at Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants, working across the region. He has been in practice for over 14 years, helping businesses of all sizes to prosper and develop. He has advised on UK tax aspects for acquirers and vendors of deals from £100, 000 through to £80million plus.
Currently an Executive Board member and President of the Chamber in 2012/3. Being a former lecturer, Jon has a particular interest in running and organising training events on behalf of the Chamber and assisting generally with other events. For his ‘day job’ Jon is Partner and Head of Employment Law at Toller Beattie LLP solicitors.
Anil is Managing Director of digital services company, LikeToHelp Ltd. His passion for working with local businesses to help them thrive online has extended to assisting the Chamber with their own website along with helping to organise and present Chamber events for the benefit of local business.
Teresa Hector is an experienced business administrator who currently works part-time for the Chamber in conjunction with another administration position. She has previously worked as an internal ISO quality auditor, recruitment consultant, admin manager and export sales administrator and is accustomed to providing admin support to Senior Managers. She is always friendly, professional and conscientious in handling confidential tasks.
